Vennela takes Charge as Chairperson of Telangana Cultural Saradhi
Hyderabad: Dr Vennela, daughter of a revolutionary balladeer and folk singer late Gaddar, assumed responsibilities as the Chairperson of Telangana Cultural Saradhi.
The ceremony took place at the Cultural Saradhi office in Madhapur, Hyderabad on Monday. Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, MLCs Patnam Mahender Reddy and Professor Kodandaram, former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, actor R. Narayana Murthy, Director of Language and Culture department Dr Mamidi Harikrishna also attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted the pivotal role of Telangana Cultural Saradhi in promoting state-led welfare and development schemes. He expressed his hope that under Dr Vennela’s leadership, the organisation would initiate programs that preserve and enhance Telangana's rich cultural heritage while fostering societal awareness.
TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud praised Gaddar's crucial role in the Telangana statehood movement, noting his relentless efforts and dedication to the cause.
He emphasised that the current government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy aims to uphold Gaddar’s vision.
Commending the appointment of Dr Vennela as a rightful recognition of her father’s legacy, he expressed confidence that her leadership would further strengthen Telangana Cultural Saradhi.
He also criticised the previous BRS government, stating it neglected art and artists, failing to provide adequate recognition or support. However, the TPCC president lauded the current administration for ensuring due respect and opportunities for all artists.
